Awareness Campaigns and Marketing Partnerships
Sharing stories of our success and empowerment and creating awareness of the challenges presented to us by society are core features of our work.
ParaPride is a disability and LGBTQ+ empowerment charity
Whilst our presence is growing within our own community, we ultimately need to influence wider areas of society to ensure our mission is successful and support others to become better allies.
By co-creating engaging, meaningful and empowering messages with businesses and organisations who share our values, we’re able to reach new people who can be supported by our cause. Through our shared efforts, our Partners enjoy the benefits of increasing brand awareness, customer and staff engagement and, in some cases, mutual commercial benefit.
If you would like to explore how our organisations might be able to support each other, please reach out, we welcome general introductions as well as proposals for specific ideas.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

The Sunflower Lanyard is a global symbol of inclusivity and support for individuals with non-visible disabilities, conditions and chronic illnesses. By wearing the Sunflower symbol, individuals can discreetly indicate their need for additional assistance or accommodations in public settings, fostering a more understanding and supportive environment.
In June 2024, in celebration of LGBTI+ Pride Month, HD Sunflower in partnership with ParaPride and Valentino Vecchietti (she/her), the creator of the Intersex-Inclusive Pride flag, launched the Pride Sunflower pack, featuring a newly designed LGBTI+ Hidden Disability Sunflower Lanyard and wristband. These are available for purchase via the linked image.
Launching the new Sunflower Lanyard represents a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity and support within our community. We are excited about our partnerships with EPOA and ParaPride and look forward to supporting Pride events and organisations with our new Sunflower Intersex-Inclusive Pride flag Sunflower lanyard. Together, we can celebrate love, identity, and the power of inclusivity.

Deaf Rainbow UK

It has been such a privilege to have the support and guidance from members of Deaf Rainbow UK, a charity doing amazing work for the Deaf LGBTQ+ community.
Deaf inclusion expert, Tyron Woolfe, advised us during the production the BSL videos that are featured on our website and, along with feedback from the wider Deaf community, led the development the ‘ParaPride’ sign in BSL.
We also share special thanks BSL Translator, Mischa Cooke, who features in our BSL videos.
It was important to us that the services we received were delivered by people with lived experiences of being Deaf and LGBTQ+ and our relationship with Deaf Rainbow UK enabled this.
ParaPride values the Deaf community and is inclusive of BSL users. We welcome all as one community. We recommend reaching out to Deaf Rainbow UK for more resources and information about the Deaf LGBTQ+ community, including BSL glossary, events, news and more.
Stonewall Spirits

In celebration of 2024 Disability Pride month and the Paralympics we partnered with Stonewall Spirits, to share experiences of what it means to be LGBTQ+ disabled and of accessibility in LGBTQ+ venues, which are very important culture hubs to a lot of our people. These were in the form of interviews of our community members, including some well known drag performers, which were shared across social media. The partnership was also featured in industry and consumer publications.
For the months of July – Sept 2024 we were also the very grateful to be the beneficiary of Stonewall Spirits’ incredible ‘Drink & Donate’ pledge, where £1 from every Stonewall Spirits bottle & gift pack sale over this period was donated to support our work.
